If you got problems under windows 64bit with your old HUAWEI E220 modem or a other model, maybe a firmware update can help.

How to connect to a VirtualBox Share
First configure the shared folder over the VirtualBox Gui (icon in the status bar).
To access the shared folder via Windows add a Network Drive - the server name is always \\vboxsrv.

Speed up VirtualBox XP
Deactivate: IO APIC, PAE/NX
Activate SATA
To get your system partition on sata, boot up your guest and install the sata-driver. After installing shutdown guest and hook the IDE-VDI file under SATA. Now it should work.
I tried a few times to install xp with a sata-driver-floppy, but that always ended in a bluescreen, so use above method.
